Dear Family and Friends,
 
The Rock is preparing to help people who have suffered a loss of income and are in need due to the coronavirus. Below are TWO WAYS TO HELP PEOPLEwho lack food or essential supplies because of loss of work or hours. You can donate either food or money. Below is how you can help:

  1. DONATE FOOD: If you live in Southern California, you can donate “non-perishable” foods. 

    What: Peanut butter and jelly, canned goods (soups, vegetables, soups, chili, beans, roast beef, chicken, tuna, spam, etc.), pasta, spaghetti sauce, pinto beans, etc. (PLEASE NO PRODUCE)

    When: This Friday (tomorrow) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

    Where: Bring to The Rock Worship Center (East Side) 295 E. Orangethorpe Ave., Anaheim, CA 92801. We will have clearly marked crate boxes to drop off your donation.

    Over 60? Let us pick up your donation. Simply email your physical address (pick-up location) to ThriveSeniors65@gmail.com OR text 714-312-9668. Please place your donated items in a grocery bag with handles outside your front door and your bag will be picked up by one of our young adults.
      

  2. DONATE MONEY: You can donate money to the “Coronavirus Relief Fund.” This money will be used to help families in need obtain food and essential supplies.

    Text-To-Give: Send the keyword CVRELIEF to the number 77977. Click the link on the reply and follow the instructions.

    Mail or Drop-Off: Send contributions to the church office, 99 E. Orangethorpe Ave., Anaheim, CA 92801, via mail or by dropping off in the mail slot. Make checks payable to The Rock and write “Coronavirus Relief” in the memo line. 
      

  3. THE “BLESS” APP: (For The Rock Anaheim) Download the FREE“Bless” Mobile App designed to bring communities together to help one another.

    Our private Rock Anaheim group provides an online opportunity to post both needs and resources. For example, someone in our congregation may be needing a refrigerator; someone in our group may have a refrigerator in their garage that they’ve been wanting to give away. Match!

WHAT “SHELTER IN” MEANS FOR CALIFORNIANS
 
CA Gov. Newsom ordered state residents to remain in place at their homes EXCEPT for essential activities and essential government functions.

 
The exceptions include:
 

  • Tasks essential to maintain health and safety, such as obtaining medicine or seeing a doctor.
     

  • Getting necessary services or supplies for themselves or their family or household members, such as getting food and supplies, pet food and supplies necessary for staying at home.
     

  • Engaging in outdoor activity, such as walking, hiking or running provided that they maintain at least six feet of social distancing.
     

  • Caring for a family member in another household.
     

  • Caring for the elderly, minors, dependents, people with disabilities or other vulnerable persons.
     

  • The shelter-in-place order also DOES NOT apply to those going to work in an essential business or essential government function.


 
The exclusions include:
 

  • Health care operations/health workers.
     

  • Essential Infrastructure, construction, public transportation, and utilities.
     

  • Grocery stores, farmers' markets, food banks, convenience stores.
     

  • Businesses that provide necessities of life for economically disadvantaged individuals and shelter facilities.
     

  • Pharmacies, health care supply stores, and health care facilities.
     

  • Gas stations, auto repair facilities.
     

  • Banks.
     

  • Garbage collection.
     

  • Hardware stores, plumbers, electricians and other service providers necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation and essential operation of residences and other essential businesses.
     

  • Educational institutions, for the purposes of facilitating distance learning.
     

  • Laundromats, dry cleaners and laundry service providers.
     

  • Businesses that ship or deliver groceries, food and goods directly to residences.
     

  • Child care facilities providing services that enable essential employees to go to work.
     

  • Roles required for any essential business to "maintain basic operations," which include security, payroll and similar activities.
